Yes - I own a website that reviews golf travel bags, so I would like to share with you important points you should look out for when buying a golf travel cover.
We discuss five key things you should most definetly consider:
Storage Capacity – Is there enough compartments to store your clubs, tees, gloves, towels, shoes and other essentials.
Protection – You need enough padding to protect your golf equipment safely in transit.
Mobility – Are you able to move your golf travel bag around easily and freely?
Size – Everything needs to fit in your bag snugly, without the need for struggle.
Value - Does the value make these the best golf travel bags?
As touched upon in my summary, storage capacity really is important. Some bags out there might provide the bare minimum. You dont want to force your gold club bag into the main compartment, as potentially you could rip the lining! I have a nice 'fingertip guide' on my website showing you an example of storage types.
The majority of travel bags are manufactured from 600d polyester. The characteristics include being waterproof, anti-static, tear resistant and flame retardant.

Then there are hard cases. Made of much stronger stuff - these will for sure fully protect the contents. But can weigh an awful lot. If you travel regularly - specially if your in and out of airports, then this is my recommendation.
Protection. Soft travel covers tend to have lots of padding. Especially at the top end (as this is where the club heads reside). Usually, the straps are also well padded out to give it more strength and minimise them breaking. A well designed bay may have bumpers on the base and/or the sides so if your case does get knocked about (like into doors) the impact will be low. Internally, webbing or a strap may be present, keeping your golf bag secure.
Onto mobility, and 90% of golf bags have in-line wheels - similar to a lot of suitcases, making transportation fairly easy.
There can be a gulf between the size and weight, as this obviously depends on what you fill it with! But assuming you just have your golf bag, maybe some shoes and a towel - the average weight is around 3kgs. Hard cases about 5kgs.
If its value for money you are looking for - a case at around the $50/$60 dollar mark would be more than capable of doing the job required. Expect to fork out closer to $100 for a hard case.
